Private Engagements and Settings

It started organically:  a group of Amandla pals would be visiting someone in the hospital, supporting a friend in crisis, or on hand at some celebration…and the songs would just come.

Next came invitations from family, friends…or friends of friends.

Then, starting in the late 90s, singing for people at life’s end, quietly and lovingly, in small groups.

You are welcome to call us if you would like to request our songs and respectful presence at your home, at a medical facility, or at a ritual or event, including:

  • weddings
  • baby-welcomings
  • coming-of-age ceremonies
  • family celebrations
  • memorial services
  • “bedside sings” (singing for people in hospice/at life’s end)

We can come with as few as four singers or bring a larger group. Our fees are on a sliding scale. In addition, Amandla has a long history of sharing music at no charge, for example, at benefits and bedside sings.

To request Amandla to sing at your event or private gathering, contact our director, Eveline MacDougall, by phone (413-773-8655) or email.
